The Scoop:

TIME magazine is making its way into the cryptocurrency realm and NFT space by partnering with The Sandbox. The blockchain-based gaming company is working on building a digital version of Times Square in the metaverse. Times Square is one of the most iconic commercial intersections in the world, and if you couldn't visit New York physically before - now you’ll be able to virtually! This move is iconic since it’s TIME’s first-ever metaverse representation.

“By partnering with TIME, we’re adding TIMEPieces as the beating heart and soul of this virtual Manhattan, where a design call for virtual architects will be held in TIME Square, a place in our creative metaverse for brands and creators.”

Sebastien Borget, Co-founder of The Sandbox

The big apple just went digital.

Placing Times Square in the metaverse will help bridge the gap between the company's historical coverage and physical real-life events. It will also act as an open platform for owners to make the most out of unique virtual experiences, such as joining events and meetings for educational purposes.

The future of gaming is powered through the blockchain, and Haste Arcade is a great example of this. They offer real-time, peer-to-peer rewards for gameplay and placement on leaderboards. The Haste marketplace is a hot new way to discover ILP (Instant Leaderboard Payout) games. Their main goal is to use the platform to facilitate, and enable an entertaining visual experience of microtransactions, while empowering future business models. To date, Haste has raised $1.5M in an oversubscribed funding round. Dan Wagner, the co-founder of Haste Arcade - is confident in the future of ILP gaming, and mentioned that Haste unravels an entirely new category of gaming that is backed by a core team of 8 forms of solid foundation.

Binance, the world's largest Bitcoin and altcoin exchange - is about to reveal its flagship platform for VIP and institutional users. The name of the platform will be Binance Institutional - which has a vision to improve and enhance services to institutions by providing VIP services that boast an array of features directed at crypto platforms, asset managers, crypto miners, and more. Binance’s attempt to upgrade its services during bearish market conditions is a bold move, and they’ve managed to stay on top despite difficult times. Their plans don't stop there, as they plan to increase their budget to hire new talent and acquire other promising crypto companies in the near future.

The recent collapse in the crypto market left multiple exchanges and businesses in shambles, including Coinflex. They announced that they'll be pausing all withdrawals on their platform, and expect to fully resume operations when in a better position to do so. They released another announcement on June 27th that stated plans to continue withdrawals.

“We are confident that this situation can be repaired fully with a restoration of all functionality, namely withdrawals.”
